I was admitted to ward 20 on 13th June 2014 and was petrified to have my operation because of a bad experience 6 years previously at another hospital. If I had known how lovely the staff and my surgeon was I would not have had those concerns. I was treat with utmost respect, talked through all of the procedures and felt the calming influence of all of the staff ( on that very busy ward ) who reassured me that I was in the safest of hands and everything would be fine. At the end of my surgery it was. They were a wonderful surgeon and I was happy that I had him to take care of me. The National Health service gets an awful lot of flack but with that in mind I cannot complain at all about my treatment. There will always be some mishaps because that is life....... I give credit where credit is due and after what I have experienced in the past regarding my own issues about hospitals I feel that this department of this hospital Ward 20 deserves praise from one very happy patient. The staff Never stopped in the 2 hours I spent there, I saw the concern a willingness to help and it really impressed me. I have given this review because I think that they deserve a positive one. In my eyes they absolutely deserve it.
