"My good and bad experience in East Surrey Hospital"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

After coming into hospital and finding out I was already 4cm dilated I was told as I wasn't in any pain to go home and come back when my waters break, well a week later I finally had to go in and gave birth to my 2nd child.

She was resuscitated which we were never told about even though it was documented in her notes, my daughter had only fed once and I kept informing staff about this as well as asking for a bed as I was kept on a delivery bed for over 12 hours.

We were discharged the same day and the next sent straight back in where my daughter needed CPR again and was admitted to SCBU with a severe infection. the staff in SCBU were very good and looked after us excellently which is more then can be said when I was in the birthing unit. my daughter is 2 this year and I still haven't heard back about my complaint.

Dear mummy1

While it was good to read your comments about the care of your daugher in SCBU I am sorry you weren't happy with your experience in the birthing unit and have not yet had a response to your complaint.

If you would like to get in touch with me and give me your details I can ask our maternity matron to look into this.

tasha.gardner@sash.nhs.uk

kind regards

Tasha
