In mid-April 14 I fell down flight of stairs and badly hurt my ankle (Swollen and Black and Blue).
Went to A&E had the X-Ray and that was where the wait started. One Dr was not sure if my bone was broken or fractured so had to wait 6 hours to be seen by the bone dr.
10 days later went to fracture clinic as I was still in a lot of pain, unable to walk on my foot which by this time was triple the size and still very black and blue. I had to have a MRI scan. The date is now mid-June 14 and still waiting for my MRI scan. Ankle still sore and swollen.
Complained to the PALS department who were very helpful but also hitting their heads against a brick wall. So now have emailed the chief executive and am now waiting for a response.
I was not given the correct information with regards to care of my ankle. Found out upon reading the internet I should have done the PRICE procedure with my ankle. Thanks NHS for doing nothing as a active person and a mother of 3, I still cannot go for long walks, forget exercise as its still painful.
As if that's not enough my local GP was contacted and told I had a hairline fracture. So who do I believe one Dr says nothing one says hairline fracture. Very worrying.
