"Gall bladder removal"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Being a little scared on my operation day was an understatement. I was terrified and worried that I would not awake from my anaesthetic. Teamed with my mother and husband who tried there hardest to keep me calm, it was still not enough. I meet with the anaesthetic doctor who was the funniest and loveliest women and kept me at ease. When i walked down to surgery and waved goodbye to my family i sat crying like a little girl. I had 2 people in theatre come up to me and give me a hug which i though was lovely and told me i would be fine, not to worry that they do this everyday. Of course everything was fine and i was out the same day. The hospital was absolutely brilliant especially the staff who went above and beyond to keep me at ease, even for a small operation like the gall bladder. I would like to thank all the staff for making it a much easier and less scary experience. We are so lucky to have the NHS especially as professional, kind and caringt as Carlisle.
