"Total disaster"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I visited via A&E and was disgusted by the treatment I received. Staff in A&E were rude and condescending, had no concept of privacy, dignity. They did not listen to my concerns and ignored what I was telling them about my condition, and were completely uncommunicative about what was happening. If my partner had not been there to fight my corner I would have been in serious trouble. When I finally got through to the Ward things got a bit better, but basic errors continued like the doctors not telling the nurses whether or not I was allowed to eat and drink. To add insult in an already vulnerable situation, a porter decided to preach his religion to me while I was waiting for a scan (apparently I am going to hell). The follow-ups have been no easier - getting through on the phone is difficult, and then when you do staff have not listened to my queries, directed me round in circles, been totally clueless on their own internal systems, and been rude (e.g. hanging up on me). I realise the NHS is ridiculously underfunded and hard-pressed, but surely management needs to take a look at some serious issues at this hospital.
