"nurses very rude"

About: City Hospital (Birmingham)

my father had an accident today and he was taken to hospital in an ambulance. he was left in the corridor for 45mins. my mother who is next of kin was not informed and also when we got there he told us that no nurse had attended him every since he come in which was 2 hours before we was informed by my father himself. he had great difficulty talking to us when he rang. we then went to the sister in charge who showed attitude which was not acceptable and then we was told that there were 60 pateints and 12 medical staff. we also had similar problems when my mother was taken to hospital for a break on her foot 2 years ago. this hospital is very dirty and cleanliness is not great there. my dad had suspected neck and spinal injuries and was not seen to until we made a fuss. i may be repeating myself but staff employed in the hospital are very rude and show too much attitude.

I am sorry to hear that you felt you had to make a fuss to be treated rapidly. That is not how we want to work. The team have worked very, very hard over the last year to improve the pace of our service. There is never an excuse for rudeness. Our own audits show we do have a very clean hospital, within the confines of a Victorian estate that needs replacing. Toby Lewis, Chief Executive
