"Never answered hospital phones!"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital (Paisley)

(as a relative),

Back again with another complaint about the same hospital.

Following the car park debacle last week my mum got a letter saying phone this number within 7 days to make a suitable appointment (sorry, I thought they made the appointment and sent you out a note of the time and place - It appears it is now a negotiation). The letter was dated 4th June and was received on 9th June, giving us just 2 days to meet the 7 day deadline.

Phoned at 0905 June, just off night shift and just dropped my son at school. Spend the next hour on constant ring back, all I got was an engaged tone and when I was lucky to get through the phone rang for almost 10 minutes and nobody answered.

Phoned the switchboard twice where I was told it's a common problem and did I want to be put through to complaints. HELL YES!

This is absolutely ridiculous and I dread to think how this would have effected my poor mum if she had been the one phoning!

As it is, I am a "donkey on the edge"!

I need to sleep.

Dear Mummys girl

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback.

In the first instance it would be useful if you could e-mail me at paul.cannon@ggc.scot.nhs.uk noting the phone number at RAH that you were trying to reach as well as your mother's details. We will then be able to investigate this for you.

Kind Regards
