I want to endorse everything that was said in a previous review. How lucky we are to have such expertise in our region. The staff are amazing and as said so positive and cheerful and uplifting all the time, don't know how they do it! Their patience and professionalism was quite wonderful. I was very seriously ill with heart valve problems and other issues and I gather not expected to get through. I was ready to give up but the staff got me through it all and gave enormous support to my husband who came every day from Derbyshire and was exhausted! All the things I wanted to say were said by the previous reviewer and I agree thank you is so inadequate a word for saving my life and learning so many lessons about how incredible people can be . I too sincerely hope I've changed for the better and don't forget it all. I was in HDU - wards 31 and 34 and ICU as well as being in isolation for a short time (can I ask that you don't isolate folk in a windowless room for more than a day or two unless absolutely essential please especially if mobility and eyesight are issues - it becomes rather draining after a while when you are reliant on artificial light and don't know if it's day or night). Also I too could name individuals who went 'that extra mile' from cleaning staff, catering, nursing and doctors but won't . I've got my life back and am doing my best To take it a day at a time and appreciate all the small things in life and try to take nothing for granted! Thank you so much. Love and respect to all.
