"Care in emergency department"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

I am a British national and have lived in Malaysia for some years. I recently came to England due to a family bereavement. I am being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis and had a flare up leading me to need to attend the emergency department for assessment & treatment. Overall I spent 10 hours in A & E and on the Acute Medical Unit and I was extremely impressed by the professionalism; kindness and good humour displayed by all the staff I encountered. This included ancillary staff, nurses and medics. They also came across as happy working groups in both situations. Historically I have not had good experiences at Arrowe Park but this recent experience goes a good way to indicating that you have begun to turn things round. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are extremely grateful that you have taken the time to provide this feedback. Our staff work hard to try to ensure that a patient’s experience whilst at the hospital is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and they are always considerably heartened and motivated on learning how much their efforts have been appreciated. We have passed your kind sentiments to staff in our Emergency Department. If we can be of further assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 432 0251, email wih-tr.pals@nhs.net or in writing to PALS, Arrowe Park Hospital, Arrowe Park Road, Upton, Wirral, CH49 5PE.
