"Awaiting a correct diagnosis"

About: Morriston Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

In 2010 I became breathless so I saw a cardiologist privately at a hospital in Swansea. after four consultations I was referred to Morriston hospital Cardiology department. I have had countless tests but still my breathlessness remains. In 2012 my ankles began to swell (Oedema) and in 2013/14 this has spread to my legs, torso, arms and hands. I have all the symptoms of heart failure and one consultant cardiologist following a Cardiopulmonary exercise stress test has stated in a report I have that indeed I do have CCF findings.

In 2012 I was diagnosed as having CCP (chronic constrictive pericarditis) and required a open heart surgery operation to remove the pericardium (Pericardectomy). The condition was diagnosed by undergoing a MRI test, this was used to access my required operation and was shown to me by my surgeon. Both he and the Consultant radiologist to this day state I do have CCP and that I do require an operation to save my life but my cardiologist says not.

I am now in dispute with the ABMU and one (or maybe two) of their consultant cardiologists. I am the patient and I am worried and concerned about my health. I am also an ex-health care professsional and have a limited knowledge of health matters. Two consultants have much more knowledge than I yet they are in dispute with a consultant radiologist and a cardiac surgeon.

I should not have to fight, complain and appear on TV to state my case. I am concerned, frightened and worried and the delay in correctly diagnosing me, could prove fatal.
