On a recent visit to Trafford General, I was waiting in A & E for 4 hours and felt that they had forgotten me. When I was seen, I was shoved into a room, my blood pressure was taken, I was told no-one would be able to see me until the morning and then I was left alone. I had to ask for some water and eventually said that I would discharge myself due to the delays in being seen. At this point, a Doctor finally came to see me.
The doctor took my history but then proceeded to take inappropriate investigations; he took MRSA swabs from an area that was not where the problem lay and where the treatment was needed. He therefore misdiagnosed my problem and told me to see my consultant the following week. The following week was too late; I was struggling to eat and drink at this point.
The relevant specialist saw me a few weeks later and he was horrified at the lack of correct treatment I'd received at Trafford General.
