Redwood 1 is good depending on what staff is on duty. Generally it's safe. Got meals but they're not always so good. Does pasta and gravy go together? Mash potato with pasta? What's that about? Vegetarian sausages are not nice.

TVs drown each other out. People take remote and change channel.

When poorly they want you out your room - if poorly you want to stay in room.

OTs have been stopped - it's boring, we need more to do. Pool today is good why not more often?

Don't like some staff who seem to be just here for the money - some staff talk to each other rather than talking to us.

Hi,

Staff are expected to be engaging with you offering support and guidance. If there are issues relating to your care specifically being not adhered to then I advise you come and make the team aware. You could do that directly to myself or one of the deputy ward managers.

The two televisions have been relocated in to separate rooms now this has helped. The reasoning behind rooms being locked off for periods in the day is for domestic staff to get in and for hygiene and cleanliness purposes it needs cleaning daily. But also this is to encourage social inclusion let the staff see people in general areas to be involved in ward based activities and for the team to assess and interact with you to build a picture of what support is needed, how unwell someone is and their level of engagement.

Yes, Occupational therapies on the wards have reduced but we are attempting to get more activities on the ward. We have recently started two peers support workers whose part of their role is to develop more activities on the ward.

To reiterate the staff are here to help those on the ward and if you feel you are not being supported fairly and in the correct ways then please feel free to approach the team to discuss this further.
