In the last four years, as part of my ongoing gender reassignment, I have had to have meetings, investigations, x-rays and surgeries in several Halifax and Bradford hospitals and clinics. I have to say that with very few exceptions, I have been treated wonderfully professionally, courteously and pleasantly. The odd exceptions were simply put right with a word or two from me and were basically instances of some staff having problems with accepting transsexuals.
