"My 10 month old daughters amazing care"

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently, we attended out of hours with my baby thinking she had a chest infection. Within 5 minutes we were rushed to resus in a&e and our world came crumbling down. We were told that our gorgeous girl was in serious respiratory problems. Kat the paeds doctor was down quickly and took over her care, along with an amazing nurse Jennifer (would really like to meet her again, I promised I would bring my daughter back in once well). Kat decided she was not responding well and brought Dr Hunter in. His manner and everything was calming. We had monitors, bloods lines, oxygen all running, yet Jennifer, Kat and Dr Hunter were in control.

After about 3 hours or so we moved up to children's ward. Jennifer followed us and when hand over given I was very upset to see her go. We were met in ward 19 by another amazing nurse, who was again very calm and reassuring. Again, Kat and Dr Hunter continually monitored my baby.

Finally, around 2 pm she was stable enough. She stayed for 5 nights. Wishaw should be commended on the amazing staff they employ and the extra lengths they go to for all those children. Even the volunteer play lady and the nursing student Jade (my daughter loved her). Lisa Marie and the team are just amazing, it made a very difficult time in or lives bearable.

Every nurse and doctor in that ward was honestly top of there game. Just amazing you all. Thank you ward 19: 20 from the very bottom of my heart.

Dear Mollysmum

I am sorry to hear of Molly's health problems but I am delighted that the Paediatric staff at Wishaw General hospital responded in such a calm and reassuring manner, using their skills and expertise to ensure that Molly was returned to full health as quickly as possible. I have passed on your story and positive reflections on the Paediatric interventions to Dr Hunter and the other Paediatric staff involved in her care. Thank you for your comments in respect of Molly's care.

Richard
