I attended my doctors for routine blood test and whilst there they weighed me and it was obvious I had been putting on weight and it was suggested that it might be beneficial if I attended the Healthy Routes clinic.
I first attended the clinic in early December where I met Lisa who was to be my nurse/mentor. I have got to say that she has been a real inspiration and meeting up with her every few weeks has kept me really focused.
My initial target was to loose 5% of my target weight, which I did and have now passed that goal. Thanks to Lisa's help I now have a wardrobe full of clothes that fit me. I can get into my 34" waist Levis that no way I could fasten a few months ago, and friends and family are commenting on how well I look.
For me, it has been a big success, I have lost my weight slowly and steadily by listening to Lisa and trying to follow her advice.
We have a busy social life and enjoy going out with friends and family, we also holiday regularly yet despite this I am still loosing weight.
I owe a big thanks to the "Healthy Routes" programme and to Lisa in particular. Without doubt I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling with a weight issue.
