"I can't praise enough everyone who we came into..."

I would like to thank every single member of staff who was involved in my son’s and my stay in Pembury Hospital recently. My midwife sent me to Pembury hospital on Easter Monday with suspected pre-eclampsia. I stayed in Pembury hospital for a week before my son was born 7½ weeks premature and he remained in the Special Care Baby Unit for 3½ weeks until he was strong enough to come home last week. I cannot praise enough, the work of every single member of staff who my husband, my family, my son and I came into contact with. From the antenatal midwives, doctors and nurses who cared for me before my son was born, all of the staff in the HDU, the staff who conducted my emergency caesarean (they did an amazing job!), all of the staff on the postnatal ward and especially to everyone on the neo-natal ward. From the moment I stepped foot on the neo-natal ward, I knew that my son was in the best hands and although they reassured me that I could phone that at any time, day or night, to check on my son, I never felt the need to as I knew that they would care for him as if he was their own. I would also love to thank the cleaners: every room I went into was immaculate and their presence around the hospital reassured me of your high standards of cleanliness. I would also like to say a huge thank you to the catering staff: I am gluten and dairy free and without warning, they were able to provide food for me throughout my stay, that closely followed my diet, and they often came to see me in the morning to discuss my options. So many people did an incredible job in ensuring what could have been a very traumatic experience for my husband, my family, my son and me, was made as comfortable, reassuring and pleasant as was humanly possible. I have recovered incredibly quickly and my son came home early, all due, I believe to the work of your staff. Thank you so much!
