The A&E waiting area is appalling. The temporary automated doors constantly opening and closing will drive you nuts. How the reception staff are putting up with this I have no idea. The average waiting time depends on amount of people waiting to be seen, but we waited 3 hours. This would have been fine were it not for those dreadful doors. The waiting area was very clean though. They had run out of water, but we were given some by the staff when we asked. Once treatment was under way, it was a first rate, efficient and professional service. All staff there have the patience of a Saint, pity they don’t always have patients that are Saints! The staff deal with any number of issues, but always with calmness, manners and dignity. Went in injured, sent home mended. Result. For that, we were hugely grateful. Thank You x

I am really pleased that you found the area to be clean and that the staff provided a first rate, efficient and professional service. I am very sorry that we had run out of water and that the temporary automatic doors were a problem. I will ask Mark Johnston-Wood, Director of Estates and Facilities to review this with his team to see if anything can be done to improve the situation. I will ensure your comments are also fed back to the doctors, nurses and clerical team in A&E and they will be delighted to hear how you felt regarding the care you received.
