"Journey through A&E"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

I wanted to thank everyone involved in my care when I had to visit A&E recently. It started with a call to 111, who arranged an ambulance, which arrived very quickly. The crew were friendly and efficient, I was taken to A&E and seen almost immediately. I was advised that some tests needed to be carried and was told how long I would have to wait. A visit to x-ray was involved and I was in and out within minutes. I was then moved to ambulatory care and again was told how long I would have to wait. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and kept me informed. Although the whole process covered a number of hours I felt I was kept well informed and understood why I had to wait for the different test results before I could be discharged. Once again thanks to all the staff involved.

Dear Anonymous

Many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our Emergency Department, and thank-you for taking the time to do so. I will pass on your comments to the team.

Also if you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that made this a good visit for you we would really value this. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 734471 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk.

Once again many thanks
