"Cataract operation failure"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

I had a cataract operation on my left eye on 17 Jan 2014. I believed that my operation was going to be performed by the consultant. I didn't realise that it was actually performed by another doctor. Since the operation I have had serious problems with my left eye and a resultant astigmatism which has caused me severe degraded visual acuity, constant pain and discomfort. I have complained to the hospital via PALS but it takes forever and they constantly delay and fail to respond to promises to contact me. Get your eye operation done privately or somewhere else

I have just read your comments and I am very sorry to read that you have had serious problems since your operation. I note that you have contacted our PALS office to look into this for you and that you are awaiting a response. Would you like to telephone me please on 01823 344762 so that I can look into this for you as a matter or urgency. Lucille Hoose PALS & Complaints Lead, Patient Experience Department
