We took our 4 yr old daughter into a and e on sunday night with croup. We were left in the waiting room with her gradually getting worse and worse. Thankfully an a and e doctor came through to get a patient and he heard my daughters cough, he acted quickly and took her through and got her on the nebuliser straight away. He then gave her some steroids,she then developed stridor and struggled to breathe. The pediatricians came down and admitted her to hdu where they tried nebuliser after nebuliser to help her. After a couple of hours their perseverance paid off and she started to show signs of improvement. I owe my daughters life to two fabulous doctors and will be forever in their debt. Thank you so much and thank you to all the lovely caring nurses. It is never a place you want to be but I am extremely thankful that we were in york when this happened.
