Seeing a doctor or a consultant in a clinic instead of nurse practitioners

Anything else?

When you go to see a specialist in a hsopital you dont expect to see a nurse practitioner and for them to be clueless. My wife is the patient and she came out of the clinic in floods of tears. She works for the NHS but has been refused a back operation. Why do we work for NHS and get nothing in return.
