i had to take half a day off work and go by car because i had no idea how long i would have to wait - appointment times tend to mean nothing and i had to get back to work by 14.30. Northern General is far too far away from here and not really possible to travel to by bus (need at least 1hour 30 mins compared to 20 mins or so by car (each way. Add to this that i was only in with the doctor for 2 mins so he could tell me i was going on the waiting list for my surgery it was an expensive visit for something for which a letter would do. If i go by bus at my age its free. had to use car and pay to park. car parking should be free for those forced to travel long distances which are impractical on public transport
