"My bad post natal ward experience"

About: Leeds General Infirmary / Maternity care

(as the patient),

Overall my experience in this ward has scarred me for life. I will never have another child.

My birth experience in the other wards was first class including the delivery suites the midwives were friendly and after my c section they were fantastic, then the horror began at the post natal ward, horrible midwives very unhelpful, you are forced to eat your dinner- no privacy, they came in and out when breast feeding and would leave the curtains open showing your private body parts to the world.

Even when I couldn't walk I was ordered to go and get my own breakfast, in the end I refused to eat. I was made to feel guilty for making a decision to give birth alone, due to a personal sensitive private matter during my pregnancy as the midwives were constantly asking where my partner was, this was very distressing and is none of their business, I could have been a lesbian for all they knew.

If the midwives would spend less time gossiping and making people feel horrible, shame they can't move the delivery suite midwives to this ward it spoiled an otherwise great experience for me.
