"Vaginal Hysterectomy and Prolapse Repair"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

Had the above procedure on 29th April 2014 performed by a surgeon and her team. Cant give enough praise to this lady. She kept me informed from start to finish; was very caring in her manner and made me feel really safe in her hands. The whole team were lovely and I feel I was given 5 star treatment by them. Staff on Jasmine Unit were equally kind and caring. Any requests made were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Special thanks to one member of staff who carried my case down to the ground floor so I could meet my husband. Typical of this unit they go out of their way to help. I had my op on Monday afternoon and went home Wednesday afternoon. I stopped taking the painkillers when I got home as my pain was very minimal. Thanks I think to the skill of the surgeon and her team. My only negative comment is that I do think it should be NHS procedure for patients to be offered an enema to make sure they have opened their bowels before they go home. My op was nothing compared to the constipation pains I suffered for 2 days, due I think to the painkillers. When you are home and taking lots of laxatives with no result. it is really painful and scary. Think this must be a problem for lots of people and maybe the option should be there.
