My 85 year old mother was taken here from Enfield despite living .5 miles from Chase Farm as A & E there now closed. 1st gripe- Ambulance travelled from Hackney to respond despite Ambulance station located at the top of her road. Response was quick but this cannot be efficient. 2nd Gripe Ambulance staff queueing to drop off patients at A & E ., again a waste of their time . Think we waited 30 mins to be booked in. 3rd Gripe. Not enough bays to hold patients who were on trolleys in the corridors 4th Gripe. Not enough staff to help patients. No staff would make eye contact with me when waiting at desk to ask for bed pan. Had to ask repeatedly took 20 minutes. 5th Gripe .had to have two sets of X rays as 1st time round not the right areas had been requested . 6th Gripe. No access to notes from Chase farm re previous admissions . Very inefficient 7th Gripe - Duplicate attempts to take blood & urine sample , second person not knowing that this had already been done. 8th Gripe On admission to ward there was no bed allocated - had to be transferred to differant ward. No offer of a drink , sandwich , water to the patient from 5pm to 11pm. Staff were kind and pleasant when you could get to speak to them but they are far too busy and under resourced. This is what feared would happen with Chase Farm closing - now have first hand experience Nice building - shame about the service..
