"Doctor "

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cardiology / Coronary Care Unit Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / General Surgery Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as other),

I have got a swollen ankle it is double the size of my other ankle. I visited my doctor all he could say was "that's impressive" this was from a photo I showed him. He didn't actually ask to see my ankle, I was wearing black tights, this meant he couldn't see the ankle he touched it then that was it. I gained nothing from going to the doctor he said he would refer me for an x-ray this could take 2 weeks. What use is that? I spoke to the receptionist, he understood that the doctor had wasted my time and his own, the doctor then wrote a letter so I could be seen at the hospital, I read the letter and took a picture of it, he was very rude about me. Very annoyed that someone I am meant to trust would be rude and cant make a decision on what to do. I very rarely visit the doctor twice a year maximum as I never get a straight answer. I will not be going back to this doctor as I don't trust him at all.

The hospital then gave me a splint that I had to wear for a week this did not help the swelling so im back to square one looking for answers. It looks like I will be going private like the doctor told me. It is absolutely ridiculous that my GP would recommend I go private as the service will be quicker and better.

I'm wondering what I pay my national insurance for.

I would also like to say that my granny had a heart attack last year and the paramedics that came to her house and took her to hospital couldn't have provided a better service. They were excellent. They got her to hospital very quickly and she was taken straight for emergency surgery. The nurses were also lovely and made my granny feel at ease.
