"I was a patient at uhnd twice ..."

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was a patient at uhnd twice in 2008 as I sadly lost 2 babies.

The operating suite seemed to be state of the art and I was reassured and kept company before and after my procedure.

The staff on ward 9 were exceptional on both occassions. I had a private room which was nice under the circumstances. They allowed Hubby in outside of visiting hours which as a great comfort.

No complaints at all.

What could be improved

This is a general observation for the NHS - more research into recurrent miscarriage(3 or more consecutive) - being told that its 'just one of those things' a lot of the time is the hardest pill to swallow when with more research they would see what many specialist in the US who carry out detailed research see - there is always a reason for a miscarriage. Sadly its a matter of money & putting a price on life.

Anything else?

I am very thankful that we can finally received the service that we pay for. The advances in service over the past few years are amazing.
