"Ingrown Toenail"

About: Liskeard Community Hospital

Absolutely appalling. I had a appointment for removal of a very bad ingrown toenail, I went in for my operation, but I was informed that they would not be able to carry out the procedure as they had ran out of acid that stops regrowth in the nail. I think it is disgusting how a hospital that should be taking care of people ran out of essential supplies. to make matters worse, I had everything arranged and I had made plans around the date of my operation and now it has been cancelled it has thrown all of my plans out of the window. A disgrace and I will not be recommending the hospital to anyone else unless they can get it organised. Disgraceful.

PCH Podiatry would like to offer an apology to you for the cancellation of your planned nail surgery procedure cancelled at Liskeard on Wednesday 21st May. The cancellation was caused by a National shortage of Sodium Hydroxide and was completely out of our control. This strong Alkaline solution has a very short shelf life and following non-delivery of pre-ordered stock due to a National shortage , staff had to look for alternative solutions and these have been ordered. Unfortunately they could not arrive in time to allow the planned nail surgery sessions to go ahead. All cancelled appointments have been rebooked as quickly as possible. PCH apologise for this unforseen incident which was out of their control.
