About: Leicester General Hospital

Last January following a federal I attended the hospital for a federal . my federal went OK and I was given on the day of my federal a date for my operation. My operation was due in June, 7days before operation I received a call asking why I had not attended are medical for operation. I explained to a rather off putting nasty women on the phone that I never had the letter. She advised in a arrogant manner that it would have been given to me on the day. She then gave me a verbal date. I then rang up and changed it. On the rearranged date I was stuck in traffic on my way to the hospital. So I rang and again was not beloved. I finally arrived one hour late were I met the most off hand nasty nurse ever. I walked in she was abrupt. She was annoyed that I had not filled the hospital paperwork in. I explained my story. No interest she just kept saying you may have a 4 to eight hour wait. She then rang someone who advised that 4 to 8 hours was not acceptable I should cancel and she would send me another visit. If I had been advised of long wait I could have sorted matters so that I could stop. Yesterday I received a call from a withheld number from a woman who never gave her name who advised I would not be getting a new appointment for operation and it would be referred back to my doctors. Then she said call made to advise. Hospital run by jobs worth.

Dear Weighbridge Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are really sorry and concerned to hear about the difficulties you have experienced with your appointment at the General. It is completely unacceptable for our staff to be nasty and your experience does not reflect the level of care we expect our patients to receive. We would like the opportunity to investigate your concerns further. If you are happy for us to do so, please could you send your details (name, address, date of birth and hospital number) to Matron Todd on Julia.todd@uhl-tr.nhs.uk or call 0116 258 4490. Kind regards, Communications team, Leicester’s Hospitals
