"Some communication issues to address but excellent..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

My Dad was recently on Ward 2B as in-patient for a back operation. Nursing care on the ward was superb and my Dad's outcome following the surgery has been excellent. The only issues were the lack of communication and organisation between the department and my Dad prior to the surgery. A follow-up appointment after his initial assessment seemed to have been forgotten and had to be chased up. There was another occasion where he was brought in (from around 30 miles away) only to be told that he had to come back on another day for a scan. Also, when having his first scan a couple of weeks prior to this, he was taken to the wrong x-ray department and waited for over an hour before the error was realised. Despite that, my Dad has been very pleased with his overall care and couldn't thank the nursing staff and the operating team enough.
