I have used the midwife phone-line twice due to concerns with my pregnancy. The phone was answered immediately and both times I spoke to a professional, caring midwife who listened to my concerns and gave me reassurance and advice. The second time I called I was advised to attend A&E and the early pregnancy assessment unit. I arrived at A&E around 8.30 one Friday morning, was seen within 10 minutes, and was sent to the EPAU, where again I was dealt with very quickly. I was out of the hospital by 10am. All of the staff that I saw were very friendly and put me at ease, from the receptionists, to the HCA and the sonographer. We walked from A&E to the EPAU but were offered a porter to take us. on the way we must have looked a bit lost because 3 members of hospital staff stopped on their way to ask us if we were ok, and offered to take us to the unit. Was so happy with the support I was given there and very impressed with how quickly I was seen. Thanks.
