"Poor treatment of patient and lack of diagnosis."

About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

My experience of farnborough hospital is really poor. My girlfriend was admitted to them after visiting ae with cronic pain in kidney area. After 4 days they still hadnt figurd out what the problem was, and allowed her to go home, knowing she wasnt well. I took her back after a week as the pain had returned. She has been there seven days now, has been in pain every day, and they still dont know what is wrong with her. They gave her morphine which made her really ill, gave her palipatations, and ended with her being put on oxygen and having an ecg. Despite learning she cant have morphone, they gave it to her again, with the same result. She has had more tests today, and they still do not know what is wrong with her. They then prmosed her she could go home on monday, when the test results come through, even though they dont know whats wrong with her now, so cant possible know she will be better by monday. It really is appalling and and has left us all very worried. She is still there now, they are no further to diagnosing her, than they were three weeks ago. I am writing a very strong complaint to the hosppital administration, the health secreatry, and my local mp, as the fact is that if they cannot find out what is wrong, they shouldnt send her home knowing she isnt well, but refer her to a hospital where there is a greater competence among staff, and greater resources, somewhere that specialises, rather than sending her home to get worse. I think it is incredibly irresponsible for medical professionals to promise someone they will be well enough to go home, when they haven't diagnosed or treated the issue. Not knowing the cause of her illness, or how to treat it, does not mean that sick people are sent home. This is my review, based purely on my observations of her care since my arrival. I carried her into that damn place in my arms twice, as she couldn't even walk, and they want to keep giving her back to me, without a diagnosis, without a cure, and without any reassurance. Hows that for appalling irresponsible service. Fobbing off people and getting them home, better or not, seems the main direction taken by this hospital. I should l also point out, that my whole family including me have been treated at lewisham, my daughter was born there, I was treated for kidney issues there, so its not like I am being mean to the nhs, I have had great treatment at other hospitals and surgeries.
