I have been to your hospital several times in recent months and never had a good experience. Just in the last week my elderly mother who suffers from dementia was left waiting all night (midnight – 7am) in A&E. This is not as is often reported that A&E is particularly busy, but because your nurses seem to operate at an absolute snail's pace. Yesterday I accompanied my dad who is due to have surgery today. We arrived at 3pm as requested, were left in a waiting room for an hour and a half, then told there were no beds and told to go home and return at 8pm, when there would definitely be a bed ready. We returned at 8pm to find there was still no bed and we weren't expected. After more waiting they said they could not provide a bed in that ward and we were sent to the PIU dept. I called today to try to find out if he's had surgery yet and you don't know who or where he is apparently. Quite apart from the discomfort caused to my parents, I've lost count of how much I've had to spend on parking charges.
"Appalled."
