I would like to congratulate the A+E dep.t for their prompt treatment of my 6 yr old daughter. she required wound care as she had sustained a cut between her eyes that was approximatly 1 cm deep by 1cm wide. As I walked into the department it looked very busy this was at 8pm and I had mentally written off the rest of the night as being stuck there as well as contemplating a day off school for my daughter due to a lack of sleep. we were however triaged with in approximatly 10 mins of arrival (despite being at the back of a queue of about 5 people). we were then shown through to the urgent treatment centre where we booked in with the receptionist who was kind and let my daughter attempt to give her name and date of birth. we then waited approximatly 40 mins to be seen by an A and E doctor ( I assume as was not a nurse). The wound was assessed and treated in approximatly 10-15 mins. so from initial triage to discharge was approximatly 60-75 mins max. I am very impressed and think that the staff at these departments work extremely hard but are often not recognised for their commitment and proffesionalism. I felt I should take some time to express my thanks and buck the trend of negative comments.
