"Very disappointed"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

My Husband was recently in your hospital after having an accident in Leicester with a broken hip, the operation was a sucsess hats of for the surgeons. The care he received after was abissmol. he was on ward 18 on Balmoral some of the nurses were uncaring he was told the day after his op on asking for help to the toilet " you know were it is" he asked for something to help him go to the toilet which he never received, he never pressed his buzzer only in emergency but another patient on his ward who was shouting for pills and Metherdome all night seemed to get all the attention, he was also left for 25mins in a room which I can only describe as a broom cupboard with a toilet in it being sick 2 days after his op trying to clean himself up, my husband is a proud man who trys not to ask for help and it was very degrading for him. Thank god after 6 days he was transferred to the Royal Oldham nearer home were he was told spending time in your hospital had put his recovery back 4 days. Consequently an op that should have had him home within 10 days 2 week later is still in hospital. I am complaining as I am a RMN and the way he was treated could give us all a bad name and the NHS as enough of a bad name as it is.

Dear reviewer Apologies for the delay in responding to your feedback. It appears that your comment only went live this week despite you posting it in March. We don’t want to stir up bad memories, but can see that your husband clearly had an awful experience. We are very, very sorry about that. We take your feedback seriously and would be happy to look into it further. If you would like us to investigate, please get in touch: communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. Once again we are sorry to read your comments and wish you both well in your husband’s recovery. Yours sincerely Communications Team Leicester’s Hospitals
