I too have attended A & E, acting as carer for relatives so bringing and staying with relatives. Experience was one of communication barriers between desk people and patients coming in. Neither being able to clearly understand each other. Second dislike is whilst weighting in cubicles for hours on end with random none medical conversations being had by the health care staff at other side. Have we been forgotten ? Dr,s always nice and pleasant when they eventually come in to see us, but get the feeling their thin on the ground in A & E. Weighting into the early hours, when A & E is almost empty, is again frustrating when all we can hear whilst we sit for ages and ages are random conversations about holidays even. Had one experience of finding the next day that there were mix ups with the name and identity of the Dr who treated us in A & E, this caused a few raised eyebrows, some sort of name blunder. Outside A & E is also a little intimidating sometimes, have known a smell of weed to hang in the air. Gum also ingrained all-over the paving outside A & E is a negative aspect. Some health care staff get too big for their boots, and take offence when issues are put to them. Every time there are negative story's in the press, about BRI, it just adds to the feeling of trepidation. Then the trust put out a positive story in the press, inevitably followed by a negative, followed by a positive, followed by a negative, followed by a positive. I know there are major issues and BRI are working to improve care after being given formal warnings to improve, regarding A & E also. Hope things get better for all our sakes.
