At the time, I was not registered with a dentist after recently moving address. After suffering with severe tooth and terrible face ache for well over a week, I was advised to visit the Dental Hospital. Confirmed no appointment needed, turn up early enough I would be treated. Family and friends confirmed this. Even a review on here reflects this. I arrived at 7am and waited in absolute agony for an hour and a half. I thought it will be worth it in the end as this pain would be taken away. I completed the slip I was provided and a matter of minutes I was invited to triage. I was there for less than a minute and ushered out the door with a leaflet, tears flowing due to the sheer pain and the fact I wasn't going to be seen or treated. I was absolutely appalled by the way I was treated and spoken to, because I wasn't "overly" swollen and had no visible bleeding. Yet to not even be examined to see what the issue was. The same day, I was able to make an emergency appointment with a local dentist. Within the hour of the appointment being made, a broken wisdom tooth was extracted and I was invited to register. Which I have now done and arranged an appointment for a further check up. As a result of all this, I have lost a day's pay. In the first instance if I wasn't refused treatment I could have returned to work and not lost any pay. Absolutely disgusted. Everyone who I have shared my experience with cannot comprehend why I was refused. Second in line, face slightly swollen and visibly in agony, yet I as a tax payer was refused treatment.
"Refused treatment! Joke!"
