"Maternity services"

After giving birth to my first child in March, I feel compelled to share my experience of maternity services at Stoke. Due to pregnancy complications, I had to use the antenatal, labour and postnatal wards. I was petrified of going into hospital, but staff were incredible. I felt listened to, supported and very well cared for. The midwives (and student midwives) were fantastic - friendly, knowledgable and reassuring. I had to go into theatre, where staff were, again, fantastic. The obstetrician, anaesthetist and other support staff were brilliant. Everyone made my experience much less frightening than it could have been. Thank you everyone for making my labour as comfortable as it could be in the circumstances and for looking after both myself, my husband and our baby. I would not hesitate to recommend maternity services at Stoke. Keep up the excellent work.
