"Badly organised & Not enough receptionist staff"

About: Nottingham Woodthorpe Hospital

I was booked in for a procedure and upon arrival I was informed by the doctor that she was not insured to do the procedure. The doctor and myself were both extremely angry as she had travelled a fair distance and I had worked myself up for what was quite a traumatic procedure. I then had to wait over 2 weeks for a follow up appointment which was nearly what the NHS were offering me. To top it off they kept my referral letters which they then lost by the time i came back in for my appointment and I had to explain based on trust the contents of the documents. When trying to book back in for a follow up I could not get anyone to return my calls after leaving several messages on the voicemail. For Private healthcare I would not expect such bad service and also bad attitudes from the receptionists that do answer the phone (eventually after leaving 5-6 messages). The nurse who looked after me was lovely and really put me at ease and the doctors were both excellent. Such a shame as I have received very good healthcare in The Park and also Springfield Private Hospital in Essex. A real let down Woodthorpe and I won't be coming to you again.
