I attend the Day Care Unit at Corbett Hospital every month for a Lucentis Injection to my left eye for the condition Macular Degeneration, and for which I have been attending the unit since 2009. There is always a certain amount of anxiety at every visit but the most recent injection, the 22nd, on April 15th 2014 was particularly so as I had experienced an unexpected adverse and painful reaction subsequent to my 21st injection which my consultant could not explain, but showed great concern and assured me that it may not happen again. As I say I was particularly nervous on 15th April but as always was treated with the utmost kindness, care, consideration and gentleness by the consultant and the numerous nursing staff from the booking in process to tea and biscuits after the procedure was over. Likewise I would like to express my thanks to the consultant and all his team at the Eye Clinic North Wing Russells Hall Hospital where I attend for my eye-check up every month, again the level of care and kindness is wonderful and much appreciated at very scary times.
