"Care of my elderly mother-in-law"

About: Salisbury District Hospital

My 84 year old mother-in-law underwent an operation on her leg following a fall at home. All the staff we excellent - helping my mother-in-law regain her mobility very quickly whilst being very aware of her needs and dealing sensitively with her dementia-related issues. The staff kept us informed about what was happening on a daily basis and assisted with my mother-in-law's smooth transition to a nursing home for convalescence prior to returning home. They were all very efficient, professional and caring. We were very impressed - especially since the recent bad press concerning care of the elderly! It is good to know that Salisbury Hospital has excellent standards.

Thank you for your comment and we are pleased that our staff looked after your mother in law with the care and understanding that is so important to our patients, especially those who sadly have dementia. We know that these can be worrying times, so we’re glad that our staff kept you informed throughout your mother in law's stay with us and, having regained her mobility, we were able to make that transition to the nursing home as smooth as it could be for her. I hope that your mother in law is recovering well and has been able to return home. In the meantime, we wish you all well for the future.
