"totally disfunctual"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

My husband went in yesterday for a back operation that he has waited for since early last year going through all avenues i.e. having 2 MIR scans, seeing health professionals before getting a appointment with the specialist on 10th October last year who recommended the operation. He had now waited 26 weeks for a date for the operation, so he contacted his GP who phoned whips cross and we got a letter the next day to say the operation would be yesterday 12/5 we arrived at the whipps yesterday at 7 am phoning Sunday as requested to check that there would be a bed for him, this was confirmed. He was admitted at 7am, shown to a room to change into the hospital gown etc ,blood pressure etc checked by the nurse seen by the administrator and signed all the appropriate forms, then seen by the anaesthetist this was all completed by 10am, we were left in the room until 1.30pm (nothing to eat or drink since the previous night ) then he was informed that there was no beds and the operation was cancelled with no rescheduled date given. I have been on the phone all day trying to get through to switchboard, admin, and the phone has rang out or if I did get a line was told to wait in the queue then I was cut off this has happened several times.
