I was induced for my first birth and so was at East Surrey from the very start of my labour. The midwives that looked after me on the induction ward were excellent. They kept me well informed, I felt as though I was checked on regularly enough and that I could put my trust in them at a time which I felt quite scared. It wasn' t particularly pleasant labouring on a ward with other expectant mothers around (and their visiting families) but I understand there is noting that the hospital can do about this. When I was transferred to the delivery ward I would describe my care as excellent. I was kept well informed throughout the my labour and even when things took a bad turn and my son's oxygen levels were dropping, I always felt confidence that my midwife and the doctors were doing the best for my baby. My birth ended up in an emergency C Section but even in theatre I felt as though staff were doing their best to keep me calm and well informed. I am currently pregnant with my second child and have no hesitation having this one at East Surrey. as well
