About: Warwick Hospital

I have been meaning to write to you for a while, but have a reasonable excuse in that I have been busy looking after my 7 month old baby daughter who was born at Warwick Hospital on Saturday 5th October 2013 at 06:35 hours. The reason I write is to both thank and pay compliment to the Midwife team who assisted me with the birth of my first child at Warwick Hospital, and the Community Midwives who supported me afterwards. It was a fairly straightforward birth, thanks to the wonderful team who supported my husband and I in the early hours of the 5th October. I was admitted into hospital at about 03:00 hours, and we were dealt with calmly and efficiently from the outset. In particular we were very pleased to have been assisted by one midwife, who was extremely reassuring to us both with her positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach. We were so impressed by the way she made us feel so positive about everything, and part of ‘the team’. It felt like anything could have been achieved that morning with her as our lead! I really will never forget her and what she did for me in helping me to bring Anoushka safely into the world. Her ability to motivate and reassure in such challenging circumstances is truly inspiring. Thank you! We found our post natal care to be good from the Midwife team in the hospital, and in particular a young Midwife, who sadly I can’t recall the name of, assisted me with great patience and understanding to help Anoushka to latch on. I called for her assistance a number of times, and each time she was patient, calm and reassuring, showing no sign of irritation, despite how busy she was! The Community Midwife support I received once I returned home was very good, and more than I had expected. I felt all the ladies that visited us were very thorough and was particularly pleased with the advice and reassurance I received from one when she saw me during my first week at home. Her positive attitude gave me great confidence in what I was doing, and her wealth of knowledge and understanding was ultimately reassuring. The Midwife staff really do The Trust proud, and as an Assistant Head Teacher in the public service sector I recognise that such service does not always get recognised or commended. I wanted to take the time to do this before returning to work, as I was so very impressed with the overall care I received, and in particular the outstanding level of care provided by the individuals I mention in this letter. Thank you so much for making my first ever hospital experience and my first birth such a positive experience and one which I will never forget for all the right reasons.
