"Humiliated"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

Went for an out patients appointment at respiratory, i was disgusted to be laughed at by the consultant. I know you may have had a bad day, but you are a professional who should reasure me not humiliate me. I left feeling totally confused and upset about the lack of care. The follow up letter presumed that you could read my mind, i beg to differ,.

Dear Mr Osborne We were very sorry to read of your concerns and we would like to reassure you that the Respiratory Department at Darent Valley Hospital takes all complaints seriously. We are aware that your consultation was very lengthy and detailed. We also acknowledge your symptoms are long standing and you have had several other investigations as identifying the cause has been problematic. We do understand that this can be very frustrating, but we are committed to resolving your problem or to make a confirmed diagnosis, hence why our investigations are ongoing. With regard to the Consultant that you saw in clinic, he does not recall making light of your condition. Nevertheless, we are sorry that your consultation left you feeling upset or humiliated.
