"Trip to Minor Injuries Unit with Son"

I visited the Minor Injuries Unit last night (10 May) with my 8 year old son who I thought was just suffering with a sore throat due to a cold, but realised late on it was more serious. We arrived at 8.40pm and were told there was a 1-2 hour wait, which seemed silly considering there were not that many people waiting. However, after 2 hours we were seen and the Nurse and Doctor could not have been more helpful. My son had tonsillitis and was given the nursery drugs to make him better. Yes, the wait was long, but only because the staffing levels were too low. This is not the fault of the people on duty, but a general wide problem in the NHS. They didn't make me feel like I had wasted their time and the young woman on Reception was very polite (even when my husband got a little bit cross at the time we had to wait).
