"My elderly mum."

About: Basildon University Hospital

My mum was brought to A&E by ambulance from her Care Home after she collapsed. My husband & I arrived to be with her. Mum suffers with Dementia and was not particularly compliant or amenable. Despite this, she was treated with care & consideration at all times. They made her some toast & tea as she'd missed breakfast. She soon went to AMU, where she was given lots of tests etc. All the staff treated her well & made sure she was comfortable. They were understanding of her dementia.. We were kept informed of what was happening frequently. At no time did we feel forgotten. I was very happy with the care mum received, Thank You.

We are very happy to hear that you were pleased with your Mums experience of care in both the Emergency Department and AMU at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS foundation trust. We will forward on your kind words to the staff in these departments, I'm sure they will be happy to receive these comments. Thank you
