"Refferal from Neurology"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Neurology

(as the patient),

I have been attending my Neurologist since March 13 and I had an MRI in Feb 2014, which showed my requirement for back surgery.

I attended an appointment to discuss this with my neurologist in mid April 14. I was told to expect to be contacted by Orthopedics within 1 month.

My symptoms of leg numbness and weakness are progressing on a weekly basis.

I called the patient focus service this week, 4 weeks later, to be told the referral had not been received.

I called the Neurology secretary who advised me they had a staff member off sick for 6 weeks and they are 1 month behind with letters! There are 500 letters waiting to be done.

I find this unsatisfactory and have no idea when this might be done. Or when and appointment is likely to be arranged. This is a worrying time and I feel like my whole life is on hold. It has taken 6 years in total to get to this stage.

I would appreicate any response
