"i was sent to Newham for my antenantal ..."

What could be improved

i was sent to Newham for my antenantal care. i am disgusted to find that i am having to make my own appointments for when i am due visits for example @ 16weeks and my 18-21 week scan. i have recieved no information from a midwife or GP and find this a disgrace. this is my first pregnancy and i am no expert on what antenantal care i should be recieving, however i have looked up the 'nice' leaflet on the nhs website, and this proves the total lack of care i have recieved. i hope other expectant mothers do not have to experience this! this causes me a great deal of concern for my future appts in pregnancy and even the birth of my baby. is it too much to ask that someone takes responsibility for the care of pregnant women as aposed to them being another number seen on that day.
