"Crisis Team, Step 4, Assessments "

(as the patient),

I have been under the care from the crisis team for about a month.

They come to my flat once a week, which is great but, an hour with someone goes quick and it is so hard to open up in that one hour and when you do call at night time say 2 am you get told to go back to sleep or have a shower or just do child like activities to sleep - when clearly I can not sleep due to my overwhelming feelings and thoughts.

The step 4 assessment was awful. I opened up to someone in the assessment to be told I am too depressed for their help, so from one pillar to another post.

I then go for a psych assessment to be told it is in my head and there's nothing really wrong with me, and that they will be in contact to organize a crisis team visit/organize a group therapy/ medication checkups - none has been done almost a week later.

I’m really sorry to hear about your experiences of our services, it does sound like you have been going around in circles to get the advice and support needed.

We are currently in the process of enhancing our crisis services to increase support at night and provide enhanced multi disciplinary services over a 24 hour period. We want to develop services that address people’s issues without them being transferred from one service to another where they have to repeat their story. We are working closely with service users and carers from the involvement centre to ensure any changes we make include the views of service users and carers.

I hope you have managed to get the appropriate help and support you need to assist your recovery but please don’t hesitate to contact me on 0115 9555350 ext 14112 if you have any further concerns

kind Regards

Jo
